Your guests are in Riyadh for three days and their schedule leaves one free evening. Whoever is hosting wants that evening remembered.
Give it to us. The camp is 55 minutes east of the city, the whole thing takes about five hours door to door, and all we need from your office is a guest list.
We’re a licensed Saudi tour operator. We’ve hosted VIP guests and delegations since 2010 and work with partners in the GCC, Europe, the United States, Russia and South East Asia, so a table of mixed nationalities is familiar ground. For senior guests the evening is private: their own vehicles and drivers, their own programme, a traditional tent, dinner cooked on site, and a guide at the telescope once it’s dark.
One piece of advice first. Don’t over-programme a senior guest. Two activities, then dinner. Someone who has sat in meetings since eight wants the view and a conversation, not another schedule.
Cars leave Riyadh around 3:00 pm and reach camp at four, where hot drinks are waiting in the tent. Then a choice: a drive across the dunes in the 4x4s, or a short camel ride. Sunset is watched from the top of a dune, and that’s the photograph everyone takes home. Dinner follows, grills and traditional Saudi dishes from our chefs. Afterwards there’s live traditional music by the fire and the telescope for anyone curious. Cars leave about 8:30 pm and you’re back in the city around 9:30.
Sunset moves from roughly 5:00 pm in December to 6:00 pm in March. We shift the timings with it.

You deal with one coordinator from the first call until the cars are back. If your protocol or security team wants to see the camp and drive the route first, ask when you enquire and we’ll set it up. Before the event you receive the programme in writing, down to which car leaves when.
On site there’s the tent for sitting out of the wind, and separate toilets for men and women. Hospitality is Saudi from arrival to farewell and no alcohol is served. Send dietary requirements with the guest list. Numbers change, we know. Tell us as they move, because cars and catering are planned on the final count.
If the evening needs a short speech or a signing, tell us what the moment requires (a lectern, say, or a signing table) and the quote confirms what we set up.
Guests don’t need to be fit or dressed for an expedition. Anyone who prefers can spend the whole evening in the tent and by the fire. Closed shoes and a light jacket are enough, since desert nights in winter are cold.
We run the Edge of the World as a 4-hour private trip. Put it on a different day from the camp evening. Both in one day is too much road.
